What's the farthest you're willing to commute or have for work?

45 mins to an hour and that's if I'm desperate to find a job and I can't find anything closer. I'd probably only want to do that for a year or two and hope something closer would open up eventually. I've heard of people communiting further away and it just seems like it would be hard to live life outside of work that way.

Living in the suburbs and commuting into the city for work is often an hour, considering traffic, when driving. If I was commuting by train, I might put up with 1.5 hours, but nothing more. Spending 3 hours a day just traveling to/from work is too much.

For much of my career, I lived 20 minutes from work, which was perfect. Working from home during COVID, my commute was about 1 minute, time to walk from the bedroom to my home office.

No more than an hour and it'd have to be a direct trip, like an hour long train ride or bus ride or something. No driving and no hopping from train to train, or subway to bus, or whatever. I haven't had a job where I had to commute more than 45 minutes since 2016 and I'm not going back to those long-ass, waste-of-time public transportation commutes ever again.

The lesser time I spend on the road, the more things I can accomplish in the workplace. However, nowadays, I can accomplish several tasks while I'm driving or riding.

Depends on how much I like the job, what the pay is, hours on site and number of days per week.

Although as far as pay is concerned. To be paid enough to make the commute worth it. Would also mean being paid enough to move ten minutes away. Really past 45 minutes each way. Five days a week. I’d just choose to move.

I used to drive 45 minutes to work each day years ago. That was the farthest for me. I only did it because I disliked the people in my own city so much. Now I work closer in the next city over though and it is a 25 minute drive. I plane to move closer in the future.

My current drive to work is just over 30 minutes. Honestly, I'm not willing to drive much farther than that.

My answer is not a poll option. For me I would be willing to commute up to 1.5 hours for work, depending upon if the job was a good one and one I really love.

I don’t have a car, so as long it’s accessible by alternative modes of transportation with and with minimum transfers and I would probably go up to one 1.5 hours if likes the job and it pays well. If it’s ideally 30 min or less with no transfers.

I have communicated 1hr10min. Always had to give myself 1hr30min to get there. Last winter had a day where it took over 2hrs to get there and home, weather was that bad.
