My favourite set of books are really for children, but I grew up with them and read them often. The nice thing about them is most are based on real places in UK, and some of which are local to me.
They are the Swallows and Amazons series of 12 books plus an unfinished 13th.
"Optimal Control Theory" by Donald E. Kirk
"Introduction to Logic" by Irving M. Copi
"The Mathematical Theory of Optimal Processes" by Lev Pontryagin et al.
"Gray's Anatomy" by Henry Gray
"Physics" by David Halliday and Robert Resnick
"Classical Mechanics" by Herbert Goldstein1
The Assassins, a radical sect in Islam by Bernard Camus

A thousand splendid suns, amazing book even though it made me cry three times
Reconstructing Amelia was so good I read it in one sitting
Les Misérables is my favorite book, ever.
I also love young adult novels like Percy Jackson because they're easy to read
The Help was also very good. It's one of those books I can read over and over and won't get bored
I have heard Gone Girl was really good but I haven't started it yet.
Just go to barne and nobles... lol I literally go to the teen section and read!1
Most books by Lois Duncan. (just not the one that's called Daughters of Eve or something. That was boring and pointless.)
