How cool would it be to watch a horror movie with the killer's POV instead?

How cool would it be to see a movie where instead of seeing it from the people who are getting killed POV, to see it from the actual killer's POV? Like we would get to see what is running through his head and his chance to explain. Maybe if its comedy it could be a misunderstanding, or it would be cool to have a movie where the audience can interact and be the killer and pick and choose who to kill

  • Horror movies tend to work because they play on peoples' fears and people are strangely compelled to visit their fears in a safe environment. More people can associate with fear than they can associate with psychopathy. If you are interested in human psychology then it would of course be interesting to you, but many people simply aren't and they wouldn't be able to relate. At best it would be interesting but it wouldn't be compelling to so many in the same way.

    • Warm bodies did the POV from the actual zombie

    • Yes, there have definitely been cases where it has been done, I'm not saying that it's impossible. I'm just saying that movies from the point of view of the victims and their fear are more of an easy win for the movie industry.

The best movies from the point of view of the perpetrator tend to be those which are made about real life killers. They are the focus of the story rather than fear being the focus of the story.

  • That would defeat the purpose for most people. Most of us identify with the protagonists and like to be scared.. it'd be a film for a very specific niche of perhaps.. troubled people.
