Mostly I like to read horror, fantasy and thrillers. Almost anything goes though, fact or fiction.
I'll just copy my recommendations from my old answer to recent similar question:
Honestly almost anything from Stephen King or Agatha Christie is not waste of time but I like the ones below more than others from them.
-Stephen King - Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption
-Stephen King - The Green Mile
-Stephen King - Misery
-Agatha Christie - And Then There Were None (aka Ten Little Niggers)
-Herman Melville - Moby-Dick (I honestly think this book is something everyone should read during their life)
-The collected short stories of Ernest Hemingway
