I'm fine with someone smirking, but if you're laughing harder than the audience of your joke, then we have an issue. I'm a big fan of stand up comedy. It's my favorite form of entertainment. My brother is a comedian and I'm trying to be one myself. I don't ever laugh at my own jokes, though I do show I'm amused at others laughing

That is the biggest put off when someone tells a joke. Takes 90% of the steam out of the joke.
No. Case in point would be Dave Chappelle, i find him funny and he's forever laughing at his own jokes.
Good jokes are universally funny, but a person that constantly laughs at his own jokes is either crazy or just conceited.
