Do you like the fact that major record labels no longer have a stranglehold on the music you listen to?

That someone with talent and YT can just totally blow you away?

Most Helpful Girl

  • Yeah but they'd still have to do some serious work to hype themselves since YouTube algorithms are fucked

Most Helpful Guy

  • They still do. They're owned by the same corporations that own streaming music services and mass media sources. Nothing has changed

  • Hahahaha. They never had, my dear. I'm sure that Tschaikowsky was in a stranglehold by the Russian Ballet Association and the BBB were at the mercy of the GEMA (they're worse than record labels). Die Ärzte always did the record company's work themselves, the other artists I listen to are too unknown for recording contracts - all those that still make music, at least.
