  • Graffiti is any unsanctioned material posted/painted on public or private property.
    Graffiti is vandalism, not art.

The difference between community murals and graffiti is that murals are done with the permission of the property owner.

  • Many graffiti are done illegally and are destroying other's property or vandalism. A lot of graffiti however are also done legally. Quite a bit is done on the behest of a city on public property. Graffiti is an legitimate art form. It's a matter of where and how to do it. Just because some douche tags on someone else's property doesn't mean graffiti as a whole don't deserved to be considered an art.

  • You get paid for doing a mural, you get arrested for graffiti and pay the property owner if you're caught.
