- Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
- The Book
Which version of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory did you like better?
What Girls Said 14
The book. Duh!
The old movie and the book are more inspirational in my opinion. Unique, signature illustrations and the other had Gene Wilder :)
I liked both movies. I don’t remember the book because I read it when I was like 9. I really liked the 1971 movie. It felt more “classic”.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory (1971) most definitely! It’s such a classic
The boat monologue gets me every time ❤
Johnny D's.. Loved it.
I prefer the book
I didn't read the book or see the 1971 one, so B
I voted bana
The movie and the book one
Not seen all of them
What Guys Said 23
I like the original
The 1971 version is just more magical. The newer one feels more like they put too much effort into making it seem like a factory rather than a place of joy
The book is the of course. Of the movies the original is much better than the remake, but I also enjoy the remake
After watching both and reading the book, I like the 1971 movie more. Gene Wilder is a favorite actor of mine.
They're both really good, but I like the Johnny Depp one better.
The original, less creepy but not a fan of the songs.
How the 2nd one was advertised made it sound like charley was giving up the factory
The first movie was the best. That's not an opinion, it's a fact ;)
Book is a different format. Movie-wise, there is One. And it ain't got Johnny in it.
The original will always be the best!
The one where Johnny Depp plays a pedophile
Gene wilder will Rest In Peace
The new movie was terrible and more creepy.
The 2005 version was So vexing to me.
I prefer the books at least there's a sequel
