Sometimes the stuff you loved when you were younger doesn't seem as good when you go back to it. Or there are negative aspects of a fondly remembered time period that you were ignorant about.

some people "out grow it" my father never did, he has over 12,000 model cars and model planes, I also collect model cars/diecast cars. but some people either don't have the same feelings from it as there minds grow and move on to some other fad.
