Ty for mh
Oh yes. It definitely wouldn't be appropriate for children to see.I'm struggling to think of a director who could pull it off because Stanley Kubrick is dead.
HBO should. There's more material than game of thrones
Good point. Although it would risk alienating a lot of their audience even though it wouldn't be anything which isn't in the book they love so much.

It would be banned in the United States for sure
Oh, I very much doubt that, the US, especially in this day and age, is very reluctant to ban things. But there'd be calls for censorship, and if it was made here, you'd have competing pressures from religious jerks insisting you remove anything that makes religion look bad, and anti-religious jerks insisting you remove anything that makes it look good. It'd end up a hollow shell of what it should be.
I don't think they need to change any of that. It's a horror story so the protagonist wouldn't have to be likeable. Keeping that stuff true to the book makes it all the more scary. The inconsistencies make it sort of like a psychological thriller.
Story and rule inconsistencies and even contradictions in its own rules never make for a good story.
I mean the inconsistencies are already obvious though. Like thou shalt not kill and then god literally commands people to kill other people for various reasons. It's the horror that makes it good. The deception of this god character. He is so ominous and sinister.
Oh, no. Those are the parts that would totally work. Claiming to be the good guy while destroying whole cities because the inhabitants don’t worship you would totally work for horror. I’m talking more about the shit that just doesn’t make logical since in the real world. Ridiculously long life spans, ignoring the laws of conservation of matter and shit like that.
Yeah but those were very tame compared to the actual content and implications of those stories. I'm talking about doing it unbridled.
That would be a century of a mini movies
Most of the stories in the Bible couldn't really claim to be non fiction by any stretch of the imagination. So it would be fiction but keeping with the facts of that fiction.
So it would be a really crazy series
Yeah it would be awesome
Mustn't have been very good though. They need to do it properly with a huge budget. If Stan Kubrick was still alive he would've made a great director for it.
HBO would be good
Yeah, how fire and wheel show how people are evil. Fantastic.
Ever seen the movie " Wholly Moses"! ?
I could be viewed as comedic as some horror movies are but it isn't the direct intention
What do you mean?
They already have a series of the bible
Oh I know but it isn't done in the way I'm suggesting.
Oh Ok, yeah, I think that would make a good series
