For me I would say X-com Apocolypse. Its older and graphically not appealing to most but the things you could do in their was amazing. The fight to one up the aliens technologically felt real, you would upgrade then they would and you would upgrade in different ways and some times you felt you had moved ahead and some times they were advancing faster. It kept it engaging and felt realistic. Factor in completely destructable enviroments and it gave you a lot of tactical options.
Of the modern era, I'd say a council game called Vanquished (by the same company that did Bayonetta). It was a third person hard scifi shooter. It was a cover shooter with a twist in that cover would be destroyed so the second game play mechanic was speed. You could use a specialized exosuit that would allow you to do fast slides to either get to new cover quickly or blow through enemies and if you were fast enough take them all out before they got you. It was not a highly complex game but it was so well done that it didn't need to be.
Finally for the computer I would say the Pillars of Eternity or Tyranny (a isometic RPG). Tyranny in particular because its an RPG were you play the "fatebinder" of the Tyrant Kyros. Your introduction into the game is raiding the last region of the world that hasn't fallen, you make your name by reading one of Kyro's "edicts", a spell that functions not unlike a Nuke, were only under very specific conditions can it be undone. Its interesting because you are the badguy but also feels historical (antiquity specifically) were things are a bit grayer then you would think. Only down side is their is a lot of dialogue (optional) to get to know and interact with your characters but the main characters power comes from peoples perception of them (its highly suggested that magic in this world is based upon peoples belief so your abilities unlock with your interactions with people but what abilities are unlocked depends on whether they respect you and feel loyalty to you or if they fear you.).

Dwarf Fortress. Yes, its fans love it, but it doesn't get NEARLY the acclaim it deserves from other people. Yes, the interface is a pain in the butt to learn, and it's not very good even when you do know it, but the depth and the stories that emerge from gameplay are second to none (like the tale of the great minotaur who ravaged my fortress and slaughtered my entire army... with a wool sock), and the accidental hilarity of the patch notes outpaces ever Crusader Kings (like the one that fixed the bug of war dogs fleeing in terror from themselves).
Oh God, I would marry a girl who loves games. I can't be more happy when I see a girl talking about games. The feeling of happiness and fulfilment is on the peak 🥰🥰🥰
I will try this game you named above. I think Shadow of war and Shadow of mortar is very underrated. I mean the game is far better than assassins creed games and still assessing creed are more popular than these games. If you watched Lord of the rings and the hobbit movies. Shadow of War is something you shouldn't miss.

Old assassins creed games great but now they're kinda meh
Yeah I agree. The Ezio's trilogy was something creates hype for assassins creed. The story of old assassins creed is amazing too. Have you played Shadow of war?
Actually, I find Origins , odyssey and valhalla very similar in gameplay. Makes really boring and the new AC game stories are very long and dull.

Summon Night: Swordcraft Story
This is one of my all time favourites and I absolutely love it. It might be one of the reasons why I'm a game developer among more popular games such as chrono trigger, the legends of zelda and world of warcraft. I've played through the game at least a dozen times, I think.
I wouldn't call it underrated but Dead Space 3 and BioShock 2 are definitely underappreciated. I thought Dead Space 3 was great. It's a long game but it's broken up into 2 parts so I think of it as 3 and 4. BioShock 2 was the most fun of all the BioShock games for me
Hellblade is not underrated, it was one of the most annoying games I played this year. All it had going for it were spectacular graphics, but most of the game is not knowing what to do and having to check walkthroughs on youtube or running around in circles for hours at a time.

Not really underrated it won Bafta awards, and is getting 2nd game. And was beloved by many. One of the best games made recently that's for sure.
