How does everyone feel about StarLord being bisexual/pansexual?

Good grief. I don't know if Marvel's just trying to get back at Chris Pratt in some twisted way... but jeez. If they're not a different race... they gotta be a woman or apart of the lgbt it seems now. Not against these things, but I'm getting sick of terrible plotlines because people want political stories. Cough cough Marvel cough cough Star Wars cough cough. Really cannot wait for the next few politically correct movies.

In a discussion online a few years ago, someone once told me "we need more gay characters in video games". I asked him "What about the Doomguy?" [the protagonist from DOOM]. He replied, baffled "He's gay?", to which I said "What makes you think he isn't?". A reasonable question- absolutely nothing about that game is in any way sexual (I suppose you could make the argument that it's a love story about a man and his shotgun, but that's not about sex). And it's the same for most video games; they just don't have a sexual component, and a lot of people seem to want to force it in in the name of open-mindedness.

Comic books are a little different, in that they more often have sexual components, so I suppose there's some room for that sort of thing there, but if you start from "a bisexual character" rather than "a character who's bisexual", it's never going to end well. And so they simply modify existing characters, and it all fits in as smoothly and unobtrusively as Yasser Arafat at a bar mitzvah. And people resent it, and some probably shortsightedly start resenting bisexuals, and some shortsightedly assume the drop in sales is due to bigotry, and the cycle continues.

I'm not a comic book reader, so I don't have an opinion on this personally; I suppose it could be completely fitting with his character, and my assessment might be totally inapplicable in this case- but judging from your question, I don't think so.

Why do you care so much about the sexualities producers give to their characters? Stop being homophobic, first of all it's just movies, if you don't like something just don't watch it, no one cares that it offends your religious fairy tales or whatever is the source of being so butt hurt about this topic.
