The universe is too vast to not have other intelligent life in the universe. But what people don't understand is the vastness of space. We might never run into another civilization because of how far everything is in space.

Intelligent life might be rare. The most common life forms are most likely dinosaurs and sea creatures. But that is my guess. No idea of ever knowing.

yeah if we find a society, it will most likely just be basic 1 cell organisms. If there's a civilization out there, it'll be so far advanced. Because think about it, how many years did it take for humans to becoming the alpha species? And think of how many years it took to start sending people in space. 100-200 years from now we'll be colonizing the galaxy.
