Do you prefer Canon in C or D by Pachelbel & why?

I prefer Canon in Q.

Actually, did you know that this song was obscure only until 1968.
In that year, French conductor Jean-François Paillard (who died in 2013) made a recording of "Canon and Gigue for 3 violins and basso continuo" (Pachabel's Canon) with his Chamber Orchestra. That recording brought the song out of obscurity and increased its popularity. I learned this on a classical music station this past week - either WKMU-3 HD or SiriusXM 75 Symphony Hall.

However, it became very popular after it was used in the movie 1980 "Ordinary People" which won the Academy Award for Best Picture (and was Robert Redford's debut film as a director).

I'll go with Canon in D because I don't know Canon in C.

I believe that it was originally written in D and that is how I play it. It is believed to have been written for the wedding of J. S. Bach's older brother, Johann Christoph Bach, but that cannot be confirmed. It did not become popular as a wedding song until the 1980's.
