Full metal character are white we are not talking about them
tall height, muscle and broad builds, varied hair colors, big eyes and eye creases etc.Tall is white trait? And most Asian character are not tall. No they're skinny most of the timeBig eye's but different eye shape. Check Asian with big eye's vs white girl with big eye'sWhat do you mean by eye creas? Varied eye how does it even Matter if they have pink or purple hair and eye's?
We are talking about art styles.FMA characters just look like "generic shounen characters".Naruto, in his blonde, blue-eyed glory doesn't look any more Asian than Edward Elric does, nor does Tsunade or Ino Yamanaka look any more Asian than Winry or Lust from FMA.The typical manga artstyle is overstylized to the point where characters become devoid of any ethnic features.Balalaika and Revy from BL are supposed to be Russian and Chinese respectively, but they just look like "generic anime girl" and "generic anime girl scary" drawn in the same exact art style. In real life, Russian and Chinese women look NOTHING alike.

ever thought about it maybe maybe artist draw their character more Asian so they can appeal to Japanese? Death note artist had said that making character look non Japanese is hard and black lagoon mangaka had made revy Chinese America because in her own world Japan would relate to appearance of a mongoloid women more than a Caucasian one
And most of time you can easily tell. White people have square jaw prominent brow ridge deep set eye's bigger frames prominent nose etc I can go on
And more defined jaw line
"And most of time you can easily tell. White people have square jaw prominent brow ridge deep set eye's bigger frames prominent nose etc I can go on" -- From your POV... those details aren't as much a consciously considered thing in the west, I'd say. Yes, we can see that men in the west tend to have harder jaws than women and that if we look at Asians that's less of a thing but there's also western guys who have jaws like Asian men and the reverse is true too.
Also there's a history in the west of jaw lines not even mattering at all in cartoons.
So what? That's just how stereotypical white people look
What you're not getting is that there isn't just one type of stereotypical white person. That said... I'm not saying every westerner who looks at an anime thinks the characters look white. It's more like the characters look like cartoon characters and that can mean anything. It doesn't have to be thought of in terms of race. You could look at the Simpson's cartoon and claim people assume the characters are white BUT it has absolutely nothing to do with the facial structure of the characters.
