Of course. When I was a kid, my older brother and sister never inspired me at all. My older brother was lazy and always mad poor decisions in life. My older brother never did drugs or anything like that, but he lacked common sense, was very lazy and unmotivated. Even today, my older brother lives paycheck to paycheck, never has enough money to do things... but he's okay with all that.My older sister was a drug addict, was always in trouble with the law, had alcohol issues and she always mocked me for being a "good person" and told me that I should get in trouble sometimes. My older sister is now 38 and she is doing better. She has a 9-5 job, has 2 kids (her first kid was taken away from her though because my sister was involved with drugs during that time) and she has a nice condo. So, things are looking up for her, but we never talk. I'm very different from my older siblings. While I wasn't the best student in high school, I still went to college. I worked throughout college, finished wit ha 3.5 GPA and got a job after college. In addition to all that, I know run a few businesses of my own, workout a lot, eat healthy, paid off all my student loans and I am very financially stable and I am always looking for ways to increase my wealth and give back to the community.I have a younger brother as well. He is 8 years younger than me. While my older siblings were in an out of my life growing up, I was always there for my younger brother and he always looked up to me. I would also often exaggerate my accomplishments (lol)... just because I wanted him to go higher than me in life.Today, my younger brother is in college (he is a sophomore in college). He has better grades than I did and he also works full-time. He also has $10,000 in the bank because I taught him money management before college. He is also stronger than me and works out twice every day, eats a lot healthier than me and really passionate about fitness. Growing up, I never had the chance to travel, and I would often tell my brother that he should travel and have fun. Every 4-5 months, he travels around and goes to a different state with his friends and takes pictures. He is also trying to start his own photography business as well.
Never, not once. Indeed, she looked at what I did and chose to do the opposite, so she dropped out of college, married a guy who ended up cheating on her with her own friends, and now works as a store stocker. I guess hating me for daring to be smart and weird in public school wasn't such a good choice on her part.
I never used to think I influenced my younger brothers growing up, until 3 christmases ago in their Christmas card to me they wrote about our childhood and what it was like for them with me as their older sister. I was bawling like a big baby.
Yes. Of course. I motivate them to be better people, to do sports, to choose good careers etc etc. I want the best for them.
You're a good sister
@kelvinmed i always strive to be
Have an opinion?
I tried, but I think I was more of a bad influence :/ I was an extreme procrastinator in high school, and that habit rubbed off on my younger brother... except that I still put effort in at the last minute, and he didn't really try at all
My older sis is an inspiration to me. She was valedictorian of her college class and went to Brown for her Ph. D.
My younger brothers know better than to go to me for motivational speeches. All kidding aside, both of them aimed high to begin with, and because they were willing to put in the work, they are now exactly where they wanted to be.
I do that almost every two days of my life when I get the chance, I wanna see them and everybody to be good and make the best choices you won't regret later. I myself try to improve in each and every possible way to be better than who I am..
Nope, by brother is older than me, and he is an egotistical douche bag
I was once and it was embarassing as she motivated in front of my parents and they were supporting her.
I don’t recall but I live the dynamics in film like that
My older siblings motivated me to do better by them being shitty people
Yes, always told him to not give up through college and uni when it got hard. He becomes a fully qualified nurse this July.
I'm an only child but always wished I had a little brother or sister to give advice and protect etc. y'all with siblings are lucky.
I tried to motivate any 1 who needs it but they usely do diffrent than you tell them you can only reach people who want help others will just listen an not care
Yes. I am the reason that she decided to go to college.
Yes i always warn her and tell her about the mistakes I made during my experiences but she never listens
Of course. Guidence and sharing our experiences are our duty.
I am the youngest one and how my siblings behaved poorly growing up made me not want to do that
