Thoughts on, "tHe fRiEnD ZoNe"?

I've seen it in movies and shows etc, about how terrible the friend zone is, but honestly I don't think it's that bad, if anything I think it can be pretty epic. But I don't know, what are your positive/negative experiences within the friend zone?

You don't think it's bad to pretend to be someone's friend because you are too invested in them to remove them from your life?

I would consider that pretty bad.
It's a situation to which the only solution is to never get in it.
It's misguided, dishonest and overall just pointless.

  I'd agree that you shouldn't fake being a friend with anyone, by all means. But then when it comes to being friends with crushes, I'd say from my experience anyway, that it is possible and can be amazing. I've found it's a matter of changing my own values and expectations around how I view the other person. Because deep down, when I have a crush on someone for example, I actually really care about them as a person. So for me at least, changing those perspectives was pretty easy and allowed me to express my care for this person freely within the boundaries of a friendship, and I've done that with one of my closest friends. It's obviously a challenge, but I do think it's possible to be content in the friend zone from my experience.
