Yes! Worse when others blame you for your trauma when often times we never asked for trauma, abuse at the hands of others, etc.

I was born in a dysfunctional family and suffered abuse physically for nearly 12 years. Emotional, spiritual, psychological etc practically all my life. Did I ask for It? No. Did I get blamed for It? Yes.

I have been a victim of bullying physically from my first time in kindergarten all the way up to the middle of middle school. Did I ask to get bullied? NO. At least not in the beginning. Did I eventually did in middle school? In a way, Yes. Why? Because I didn't learn from my mistakes like I thought from elementary. It wasn't until around 7th grade I made a change and made new friends.

I had my things stolen from me. Money, games, Cds, you name it. All by my so-called friends. I had a teacher tell me I'm paranoid etc, and she was the one who got her butt fired for hitting and attacking a kid who attacked her first. Crazy.

I have been threaten to be killed by at least 3 people.

I have been sexually harrassed and assault (unwanted touching). And no. Never asked for that.

Been emotionally and psychologically abused by crazy people who wants to blame you for not wanting or dating them. Then flip it on you later.

I am naturally gaurdes. But I become more alert, aware, etc because of such people around me. I find it terrible that toxic people are trying to make other good people even more toxic because of their evil. I can 1000% confirm that it does promote more trust issues than those who never dealt with all of that. They eventually get healed faster than those who are constantly abuses, neglected and hurt who have years of damage and extensive pain. That's like forcing a person who just got into an accident to get better in 3 days when the extent of their wounds and injuries is more than just physical it is the whole package. Others needs both therapy, counseling, and Rehabilitation.

Absolutely, yes. Most people who have been abused were abused in childhood and most people who have been abused (myself included) were abused by someone who claimed to “love” them. And this goes for most people who have been abused, especially sexual abuse - the abuser is often times someone you know/familiar with/trust. so if you take that into account - how is someone who has been abused by their parent, someone who is supposed to love and care for them, supposed to trust a stranger or someone they just met? Trust is established or supposed to be established in “normal” families by the caregivers. And if ones caregivers abused him/her - there is going to be a huge issue with trust. So yes, 100 percent people who have been abused will have difficulty trusting others.
