So... Seven times apparently. Might be eight as of March 2021.0|00|0Is this still revelant? - 8. Too damn many. 3 of those internationally. Thinking of buying a boat so if I need to move again at least all I have to do is weigh anchor and go.0|00|0Is this still revelant?
Anchor deep and ride it out if you're in open water. If you're in harbour or up a river somewhere it shouldn't be a problem. I've lived in a coastal city nearly 20 years and never seen a hurricane.
I don't know... looked like harbors got destroyed in some places. Also depends where u live.

111- Oh damn, now you're going to make me reminisce. Well, let's see, from my home I went into the service in the Coast Guard. So Cape May would be my first move. From there to New London as a rookie seaman. Then Groton for the Academy, based on my aptitude scores and recommendation of my Commanding Officer. From there I went to Fisher's Island then New London Ledge then Little Gull Island lights. I because an instructor for Search and Rescue at Groton, Ct. Then shipped out on a ship for North Atlantic Oceanographic Survey. Got married and moved to Staten Island then shipped out to Vietnam as a Search and Rescue expert. Upon returning we moved back to Ct. in two places, one a rental in Groton and bought a house in Mystic. Moved to Bridgeport after we sold the Mystic house and rented a home there. Then the company I was working for since I got out of the service, wanted me to open a 50,000sq. ft. warehouse in Randolf Mass. So we moved up to Foxboro, ten minutes from the stadium. We stabilized there for a few years then the boss wanted to build again only this time in California, SO we moved yet again to Palos Verdes Estates and I built another 50,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Carson. That lasted for another 3 years until he asked me to move to Japan as a buyer.
I quit. By then I had two children, both girls, and they needed to have some stability. We moved back to Long Island, rented for a couple of months until we found a home to buy. My wife's parents lived on the Island and this gave her the opportunity to visit them more often. I took a job as Executive VP with a large automotive firm and that lasted 5 years until they went bankrupt from overextending spending. I almost lost my home because of this so I decided unilaterally, to buy a home 3 miles from where I grew up. We lived there for 12 years and my wife died from cancer. I hung onto that home for 21 years but finally moved to where I am now in senior housing.
One daughter, my oldest, graduated Cornell, went into the Coast Guard, and went on the ship right out of boot camp that I mustered out on. She met her future husband and got married. When they left the CG they moved to Mass, where his parents lived, and bought a home. She now has a Ph. D. in education and is a principal in a school district there. The other worked at SU for 10 years, got her degree then moved to England to study Art History in London.
So, there ya have it. All of the places I have lived.1|00|0 - In my twenties, about 10 times. It had to do with moving a lot in college, and after college, moving for jobs, etc. However, in the last ten years, only once!0|00|0
