I don't necessarily mean friend in a strict sense, but for example friend in the sense that you regularly talk to this person on this site, you confide in , your problems etc. Some will say it's just a virtual friendship, which is true, but sometimes just by talking you feel close to that person.

You didn't say anything about irl. No, I haven't met anyone in person. But that doesn't mean I don't consider some people genuine friends. Friends don't disappear without saying goodbye. They may take breaks from this site, or close accounts and come back as another, but having other means of contact puts them into a different level.
