What do you think of people who write in diaries or journals?

I have a sort of journal, I just don't record daily happenings in it I just note down my conversations with God as I'm Christian and what I perceive the Holy Spirit is saying.

It can be a good way to be organized.

Honestly, sometimes i think they are just dreamers and unrealistic but that's just my thought.

I like it and I find it different. I don’t know many people who even write with pens nowadays! Many people I’ve spoken to will say to me “I don’t know when last I’ve written with a pen” or “I don’t even think I have pens at home” and I’m like 😳😳
Often people who write in diaries or journals think a lot about things and they write things down because that’s how they express their emotions or find writing a way to let things out. Like how one will cry to let all that emotion out, others get that same feeling when they write. Like it’s an escape. Other find that escape in reading, exercising, cooking, painting and the list goes on.
I find it fascinating how there’s so much meaning and reason behind why we do things.
Others may say “she’s only writing because she wants to learn how to write neater or to learn more about writing” which can also be totally true but there’s so much other reason there could be.

I think it's generally a good idea to keep a journal of some sort... so good for you them!

I used to keep a journal to record my daily events and a dream journal for my nightly dreams. Unfortunately, I haven't kept up with either of them for several years.

I can imagine venting in a journal can probably help a lot of people. I should probably start doing it tbh. I have a lot of thoughts on my mind that I don’t want to express people and need to let it out somehow.

there was a while I was writing my dreams down in a journal because I heard writing them down can help you have lucid dreams.

I don't think anything I used to do it but now my mind is very organized I don't really think I need it anymore. I've been focusing more on planning my week and writing down things I wanna get done.

Nothing. Its their choice. Some people use journaling as a coping mechanism. I think its beautiful that they're able to pen down whatever they're feeling.

I used to, and also had a public livejournal. It was a great way to really get thoughts down, but I also think it helped me show emotion and become a more open person during college life.

It's good to get your thoughts down and have an outlet. It can help you work through things too as well as give you something to look back on
