  • Well this is pretty easy to solve on many basis. Belly dancing came from the Gypsys and the Gypsys believe in modesty all the way until marriage but they did teach others and on the way of that teaching people preferred the move pervocative style clothing that showed off the style of dance in the belly more

    • Actually, it's roots go back to Egypt and Sumeria as a fertility ritual meant to make a womans' abdomen and hips stronger and more flexible for pregnancy and childbirth and back then there was no costume for it.
