I do not use those kind of products very often. I have slightly oily and porous skin and I use witch hazel as a skin cleanser.
How do you feel about its results?
It does a good job cleaning, it does not leave any oily residue, and it does not dry my skin. I believe that witch hazel is a primary component in many products which have added ingredients to try to produce "super cleansers."
Oily skin, I use an Avene gel cleanser for oily/sensitive/blemish prone skin and a Konjac sponge
I've never heard of a Konjac sponge. Tell me more
m.sephora.com/.../P385038I use this one. There are other versions depending on your skin type. It's basically a sponge that exfoliates your skin, it's pretty hard when dry but it becomes soft as soon as you wet it. I use it only with warm water when I wash my face mid day, and with the cleanser when I shower and before going to bed. My skin got better after I started using it!
I used to have really bad acne up until like two years ago. And I started using a basic cleanser called Cetaphil ( antibacterial bar) and their lightweight moisturizer and I haven't had any problems since. Do you think you're washing your face too much? The only reason why I asked because our skin naturally releases oils and stuff to protect it, and I know that there could be an overload of it because I've been there, but I wonder if there such a thing as washing your face too much. I think I'll ask my dermatologist that when I see her again.
Yeah you can harm your skin by washing it too much with some harsh detergent. Especially with oily skin, if you use a very drying cleanser the skin dries up too much and produces even more oil.I don't think I wash my face too much, cause I mostly just use warm water and the sponge.
Agreed. I don't wear foundation or anything that can clog pores even more
Same, I only wear mineral foundation when I have to attend some sort of event, but 6 days out of 7 I just keep my face away from makeup ahaha
Have an opinion?
Water and soap lol
lol didn't think I'd have to break this one down like that... what kind?
Any soap works haha my skin doesn't need much maintenance.
Well you stop that! Lol half the crap shouldn't even go on your skin let alone your face. Skin needs a lot of maintenance otherwise it will go down hill after time.
Oily porous skin, I use a facial scrub.
Ouch. That seems harsh for your skin to have a daily scrub. Which kind? Do you break out easily?
It's okay because it removes all dead skin and it helps me from breaking out. I have acne
You know I get that scrubbing like that everyday will eventually do more damage. I used to have acne badly and I started using cetaphil antibacterial bar and their lightweight moisturizer and haven't had issues. I do however use an exfoliating scrub once a week.
I got like sensitive skin! So I use cetaphil
I wonder where you got that brilliant idea from? Lol
It works good
I know lol lol
