My opinion is that I paid good money for those jeans. I've seen some clothing in this style for upwards of $25 a piece that look like they were stolen from a homeless man, bleached, washed and rebranded. I don't think anyone would wear damaged clothing if they had a choice back in the 3rd world country I came from. I immigrated as a kid and was naturalized, so I have always associated ripped clothing with poverty. Until I came to America, I'd never thought something born of having no other choice would become a voluntary. As a result, I never buy or that style.
