However if you want faster fat burning you need a more high energy workout than yoga or pilates.
Some say you need to raise your heart rate for a minimum amount of time before you start to burn fat, and then keep your cardio work out going to burn fat, but others like this link suggest many short but more intense sessions in quick succession are better.
So it's saying do a workout like
- 8min stretch and warm up
- 20sec as fast and hard as you can then 10 sec of rest or low intensity repeated for 20-25 mins
- then 3 min of stretch and cool down.
and this will burn more fat than replacing the middle section with the same time of continuous cardiovascular workout
For the low intensity rest periods, you might like to incorporate some stretching rather than collapsing.
