How true is the statement "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder"?

It allows for some flexibility in regards to looks, but for the most part, people want a symmetrical face and looks based on their cultural standards. Even if you don't find them personally attractive, there are some people you can just say are "beautiful."

Now when it comes to BODY, though? Yeah, it's 100% true. Check out Feeder sites; some men are really into SSBBW's (super-sized big beautiful women; 400+ pounds). I myself am into plus sized women; like 175-230+ lbs, and find skinny chicks to be a turn-off. That's why modern white men all want "a stick with tits" like Kate Upton, while non-white men (black and Hispanic) want thicker women, like Sofia Vergara or Christina Hendricks.

I'd say it's about 20% true and 80% not true.

People do have personal preferences. But there is a lot more commonality than differences. The differences are not so much if someone is good looking or not. It's about how good looking they are. There is also a matter of "type" which is something completely different than looks on it's own.
