I honestly don't know, I had both wool and cotton garments which did not last long and some which seem to last forever/not getting worn out for many years of regular use. Guess it would also have a lot to do with the quality level and the way it is woven.
For other reasons I prefer wool anyway. Though, still most of my clothes is cotton because it is way cheaper :P

Or well, I know some wool socks are not good to walk around in. Did lose the heels on a pair not long ago by doing that xp.. such a thing surely did not happen so fast with my cotton socks.

Well I never thought it would come out to be a draw. Everything I read said it basically comes down to how the material is being used. Both hove their own pros and cons and it came to a tie

Wool and Linen are the two best fabrics for clothing. My wool overcoats are vintage and were made in the 40s and 50s. They still look brand new. Modern coats do not last long like that. All my wool sweaters have lasted a long while as well.

I think wool. When I think of sweaters and blankets wool seems to last longer, cotton getS flat and weak... probably has to do with the natural hair fibers , just a guess

I thought wool would be but seems to fall apart easily compared to cotton jeans I’ve had and wool blankets I’ve had, so I guess it depends on what it’s used for

Wool is longer lasting than cotton. It is also more flame-retardant, and is less likely to absorb germs and bacteria.
Cotton is also an SBO to iron, from personal knowledge!!!

Well from everything's I found its basically a draw. They both have their - and +. What it boiles down to how the material is going to used.
