and there are lots of guys that would like girls to ask them out, but the IDEA that guys should do the asking is so ingrained into our society that its difficult to change a larger portion of people's views on the matter. My personal opinion is that asking someone out is difficult no matter if you're male or female. We're all afraid of rejection. and of putting ourselves out there. I think that a lot of women cling to the idea that it's the guy's role because it's easier for them. Holding on to
this outdated tradition benefits them because they don't have to do the "first time risky initiatives " that the article talks about. They don't have to push themselves out of their comfort zone as much, the rejection is less harsh, and they have the added benefit of the great feeling of having someone else like you enough to pursue you.
Couldn't have put it better myself.
I was going to respond with its been ingrainded in society for generations that men are supposed to do the asking because that is what the media always shows. But damn you went beyond that with this answer. I agree with everything you said, especialy the experiment idea.
Biologically the male is wired to be the hunter because in primitive times the female would not be able to do anything when pregnant. Being crude about it we're all here to f*** and perpetuate the cycle. I've waited because I have standards
Thank you for adding nothing to the conversation, virgin_guy.
I asked the question regarding the article, not personal reasons. I also don't agree. Asking out a guy isn't bad at all provided you know how to pick them.
Every girlfriend I've had approached me first. The relationships lasted anywhere from 3 to 7 years.
Well that was rude.
How is that rude? I just meant that you just backed up what I said.
i kind of agree, guys I asked out and suggested dates even after we alirting but I made the move usually wanted to get laid or didn't take dating seriously... and ones that ask me out are ones that are full on ready to take me out court etc. It just works out better when a guy is the one asking.
