Does everything really happen for a reason?

Does everything really happen for a reason?

I was dating a guy I really loved, unconditionally for 8 months.

We were on break and today he told me he doesn't want to get back together. I'll admit I did freak out and get into the "needy stage" but then he called me saying that I was a ****, a whore, and a bitch and that I'll never find anyone who treated me as good as him. He told me that our relationship was the worst he's ever been in and that he no longer cares about me. Then he called back after I tried to hurt him, which wasn't really mature on my part, but I was furious...Saying that he lied and that he really did love every moment of our relationship, and that it was the best he's ever been in. The reason why we broke up is based off of beliefs...i guess. I'm just really heartbroken and hurt that he'd accuse me and say such mean things to me when he once thought the world of me.

Do you think that when you stop looking for love...it will find you?
