How does someone appear available for a relationship without looking desperate?

One of my friends and I were talking before class and we got on the subject of boyfriends. She has one now and I asked how she gets guys (she’s dated a few other guys in the past) and why can’t I….she told me that I need to look available and open for a relationship. But I’m on the quieter side and can’t talk to guys too well (except for a few I’ve know for years)…so how does someone appear available for a relationship without looking desperate.

b.t.w. I am not a supper bubbly/ preppy person…..but I am silly with friends

xD. just a tip: if a girl has dated a few guys- doesn't mean that she knows everything. xD. don't know why I needed to throw that out there.

anyway since you are kind of shy- you're best bet is putting yourself in a favorable social situation. you say that you are silly around friends?0perfect. drag a few friends with you and go to a football game. and go talk to some of the guys in line or something. try and flirt, and whike doing that give the guys something to remember about you. xD. practice makes perfect...

oh another thing. don't pick an a**hole to try to get... common sense... but some girls fall for them.
