Well it's going to be easier if you give some time to schedule the date and prepare. If the date comes as a surprise like that, it's just harder to prepare but as long as he is free and willing I don't think it would matter.

i think its a bit hurried- but it depends on the situation... xD. for example- going for coffee together is something you can put together in a few minutes... easily. something more advanced- give it some more warning.
