I've "made eyes" at him for weeks. He introduced himself to me after class one day, then the next week we talked for half an hour. Then this week I was so sure he would come up to me again. After class I waited for him. I stood in front of him when he came out the door. I made an award winning smile, then he walks away without saying anything. Was it just a bad day or I am being too touchy? How do I really get his attention?

Maybe you need to show clearer signs that you're interested. A smile after class doesn't really mean he'll come up to you, it just gives the image that you're friendly or just happy in general.
