I just feel that it would help me out a lot to kind of have a friend who is a girl. It can also help me understand how girls think. The problem is that I kind of am a bit scared of girls.

  Some of my closest and friends are guys and it's really great. All it took was to start talking and be genuine and not try to impress the other person.

hmmm...just look really sad in front of a girl and not all of them will ask but some girl will and they will ask what is wrong and there you go.

  whatever rocks your boat. if you have a hard time talking to them and women are generally caring and sympathetic. not to say all women..but yeah. its probably much easier than starting a conversation out of no where but if you wanna go that way then go ahead. just start talking to her. say hi and go from there.

  Yes, it can be. but there are a lot of things that are scary but sometimes you have to take a risk - even if you feel like a fool afterward. Not every experience is going to have the same outcome. Take a deep breathe find a girl who seems easy going and nice and introduce yourself.
