  I agree but if I ask her out now, I have another 4 months of class with her. And we only hang out with each other so that would be awkward. If I knew beforehand, I wouldn't be so apprehensive.

i say you start a conversation with her and flat out ask if she has a boyfriend...if you aren't confident for that you can always set it up so you ask her, that way you don't want her to know if you are interested

Use the medium in which you asked this question: use the internet. A quick Facebook search will quite possibly tell you everything you need to know. Hopefully you will have tried that by now, but better to double check. If you have and you have turned up nothing, if she has an apparently close friend in the class already, ask them. And if all else fails, just ask her. If she says she has a boyfriend it is no worse than her just saying no. And vice versa.
