What kind of romance do men like?

Maybe my guy is different than most. He says he doesn't really understand romance and such but he'll often do little romantic things just out of the blue. As for what I've done for him, loads of things. But so far there were three moments that were the best. I'll only tell one because otherwise I'll run out of space. We didn't have a chance to dance at our senior ball and we liked each other throughout high school so it was a bummer. So every day for an entire week I gave him a riddle to figure out. They alluded to what I was planning and one told him to wear a tux and another told him what day and time. At the time he was on a very strict and limiting diet prescribed by his doc. NO sugar and carbs (including things like fruit you get the idea.) impossible to cook for him. Anyways, I finally figured out a not too bad dinner for us and I lit a few tiny candles here and there. I borrowed games from my friends to represent the games at ball and borrowed a ouija board to represent the psychic that was there and I put a few flower petals on the ground. I put on a louis armstrong cd and left the door slightly open. I was wearing my prom dress and when he came I asked him to dance. We slow danced for what seemed like forever and I saw one tear fall from him. He said it was the most romantic thing he's ever seen!

So maybe not all guys like romance but mine seems to. lol He didn't always, he thought teaching me about computers for 6 straight hours was a good date. I lived through only two hours. haha. but there are small things you can do for him too, maybe he gets sick then bring him something to eat or drink! You can always leave him a cute drawing of the two of you where he will find it. Once I snuck into his room to "look for a book" which his mom tried helping me find but I really just secretly put some chocolates in a box on his desk with a post-it that said "eat me!"

Men like romance that is reciprocal in nature. Meaning that any little effort that we put in to make your life easier or make you feel appreciated, that we get something back. It can be anything from simple notes, to hand-made meals. Honestly, a girl who knows how and frequently cooks for her man is sexy. Not to brag, but honestly, I cook better than most girls. A lot of teen and twenty-something girls are stuck without a microwave or eating out. A girl who cooks has a leg up.

Other little things include offering to drop things off at the post office, pick up dry cleaning, surprise him at the office for a quick kiss if it is on your way, etc. The thought is what counts more than the specific action.

Men appreciate romance most when we don't feel like we're forced to be romantic, but express it in our own way, and for us to receive it back, such that men aren't seen as one-way romance depensers, but rather that the woman sees romance as a two-way street where she contributes in a way that is fitting with her own personality and gifts.

Of course I love romance. Enough for me to woman behaves like a woman. Little things, a phone call, kiss, touch, walk. Lovemaking can also be romantic. Half of GAG laughed at me when I said that I sent my girlfriend flowers, after first making love. She liked it a lot. It is now my wife.

I like romance. A surprise date or some special little gift (not expensive) that she found, one of those "Oh I just saw this and thought you might like it" kind of things.

Make a meal.

Dress up sexily (there is nothing hotter than when my girlfriend and I are sitting on the couch watching TV and she gets up and says 'stay there' and disappears into our room only to come out in some lingerie)

We certainly like to be surprised/romanced. Romance to us might be different than it is for women, but we still love it. I guess sometimes the hard part is finding out what your man finds to be romantic

...and beware we don't always show our appreciation for those acts the way a woman usually does. I'm guilty of it sometimes and feel like an a**hole when my girlfriend does something nice and I don't show my appreciation the way I should

Anyone that doesn't like romance isn't a true man and does not understand their own feelings. Being romantic is about paying close attention to what is important to a man, then acting on that. Being romantic for a guy doesn't necessarily mean sexy lingerie and sex, it could mean buying tickets to a pro football game, or renting a hotel in the city and going to see a comedy show. Guys want to be romantic towards women, our version of romance is different.

That's like asking if men like shopping. It's just not a manly activity. Some guys might like it, but it's not really tapping into that part of a guy you probably find sexy or attractive. So maybe a better way to phrase it is how can you show a guy you care about him? Just think of something he wants to accomplish or do and help him do it. Being supportive is the best way to show a guy you really care. Hopefully he treats you well enough to deserve it or once you do it...he reciprocates. But the key to being supportive is not offering the support at random times. You need to be consistent and reliable - not just when you want him to do something nice for you. It has to be SELFLESS. And all men like lots of BJs. It's not a blow vacation...it's a job. Gotta do your JOB!

Romance? Eh, I think men are into cool girls who aren't super pressed. Girls who don't drawl. Girls who take of themselves and occassionally do something nice for their guy. Really, it doesn't take very much. If you are hot and don't nag, your 85% there.

any evidence that you "get us" and pay attention to / appreciate our likes, priorities, values is a big deal and super romantic. to me at least.

I can't speak for all men but I can safely say that I like romance. A woman doesn't even have to do a lot for me to be romantic. I like it when women are affectionate towards me, that's the kind of romance I like the most. Just sweet gentle spontaneous kisses out of the blue for no reason at all. Also, being there for me and supporting me in everything I'm doing and going through helps. A little surprise dinner once in a while doesn't hurt either.

Do men like romance? No... we are wired to be romancers, not romanced. Men like to be respected and to be with women who are respectable. Behave in public, be a lady. Respect him, don't worship him though. But no flowers or sh*t like that.
