If you had to give up either all sweets or all salty foods for one whole year, which would it be?

1) Sweets: no soda, chocolate, cookies, candy, gum, ice cream, creamer or whip cream in your coffee, sugar in your cereal or on your oatmeal, no artificial sweeteners, no waffles, muffins, chocolate milk, no holiday goodies, NO PIE.

2) No salt or salty foods: I'm fairly certain you can die from this. Not having any sugar might make you want to die, but not having sodium actually can be deadly. (Let's pretend it's not.) No salt on the rim margaritas, no chips and salsa, no beef jerky, no soy sauce for your rice or baked potatoes, no salted butter, no potato chips, no salty mac & cheese, no french fries.

  • I gave up all sweets 6months ago.
    Just one pice 99% chocolate a day because it's actually healty, but it's definitly nowhere near sweet.
    But I didn't cut on fruits, and they are sweet to :-)

    Lost 30kg in the last 6months, thats my motivation, if someone asks

  • I could live without the options in salt and sugar that are chosen above... you did not say natural sugars like honey, maple syrup, xylitol, etc. I don't need salt for French fries or potatoes... Sweet potatoes are yummy plain and bbq's White potatoes are delicious

  • Well i dont really like sweets, plus to much sugar in something makes me sick and nauseous and not really into salty things, plus to much salt will give me nasty heart burn. I prefer spicy and cheesy foods, oddly enough spicy foods dont give me heart burn. So giving up salty or sweet foods wouldn't be hard.

  • I already cut refined sugars from my life. It's so easy to give up. And salty foods I eat in moderation. Soda is the worst especially coke. It tastes like poison that's making my mouth all sticky.

  • Sweets make me feel sicker sometimes, so I would give up those. Honestly, I don't even think people need as much salt as they get in things like soy sauce, but yes, some is necessary for optimal functioning.
