Restaurant etiquette?

Some restaurants make you pay before and some make you pay after. I've been to both types of restaurants and I'm curious, which you prefer/feel is the right way?

  • That can't be so I never heard that my life and I eat out 5 days a week what if the steak is bad or something's wrong with the food? You don't ever pay before your meal

  • Depends on the type and quality.
If it's generic and cheap I'm happy to pay before. If it's a nice restaraunt with customer satisfaction as a high priority it should be after the meal

  • Pay before at fast food; pay after at traditional unless it is 1) buffet or 2) prix fixe.

  • The only restaurants that I've been to that make you pay before you eat are fast food. Very different experience.
