Do you crave for junk food during your menstrual cycle?

I've noticed I crave for junk food before my menstrual cycle. Is that normal?

  • That's normal I used to crave it too, but now I eat healthy and I'm lovinng it... I get excited about every meal, and new recipes. And if I eat enough of I'm not crveing the junk food that much. Also try natural sweet meals, like banana pankes, or homemade 'junk food', like pizza, that can be very helathy :D

  • That is an effect caused by your hormones during that time increasing/decreasing cortisol and serotonin levels. Sugary/fatty foods works to flatline these, which in turn, temporarily would make you feel relaxed..

    However.. The bad news is that the same fatty/sugary food causes more painful cramps. That's not wanted, I'd reckon. 😅
