French toast recipe?

I realized some families add secret ingredients to their French toasts so I'm curious what yours is so if possible please give a detailed process of how and when you add it

  • All the way though my childhood, french toast was a savory dish, and so we season the eggs with things like a pre-mixed poultry seasoning, garlic powder, some salt and pepper.
Then cook the usual way on a pan or skillet, and serve with bacon and or beans.

Since then I have learned about the sweet version, usually we season the egg mix with nutmeg and cinnamon, maybe a drizzle of maple syrup, and serve much like pancakes, with maple syrup - ironically I also like these with bacon...
