No, the cold water in it self does *not* make you fat, and the cold itself might actually *use* some of the energy you got stored in fat.
*However* trying to starve yourself be it with water or in other ways tends to cause your body to go into a starvation panic mode where it tries to save as much fat as possible, and it sets a new weight target for your body.
So once you stop dieting you'll bounce right back up to that point.
Therefore it's better to do weight loss a bit slower and steadier if you want a lasting result.
