Why would a restaurant tell their employees to do something so cringey?

I was at 'Texas Roadhouse' last night, and it's quite a good place, but, as we're leaving first our waitress says have a great night, okay... normal.. then another one says the exact same thing... starts to get a little suspicious, then as we are leaving a whole group of them say it.

Like seriously? I don't want people being told to wish me a great night. It's weird, stupid, and whoever told them they have to say that is awful at their job.

  • Get over yourself a little dude. It's not like they say "give us a five star rating" it's being polite, and not every staff is going to keep track on what other staff have said to a customer 🤦
