Why does my mouth turn slightly numb and produce a lot of saliva when I eat liquorice?

I noticed this happened every time I eat liquorice. im talking about the black/dark liquorice. someone have any knowledge or ideas that would explain this?

  • Im making wild guess because i have no clu maybe because it consiste of more glucide wich you saliva absorbe so it makes more to absorbe more

    LICORICE/LIQUORICE can actually have serious effects on you. It can be dangerous.

    Are you in Europe? In Europe, where liquorice is native, there are more "real" liquorice products. In the USA, most "licorice" is mostly flavored with anise since they taste very similar but anise is not lethal like liquorice can be.
