Do you say coke, soda or pop?

Where I'm from, New Mexico, most of us just say coke. Example: "Dang I'm thirsty. Gonna get me a coke. Want one?"
"Yeah. get me, uhhh... a sprite."
Then some people I've met from out of state call it pop and others just say soda. So what do you call it and where are you from?

  • It's "limsa" where I'm from, but I call it soda in English, or the name of the brand, if I want to be spesific.

  • coke or cola refers to coca cola, while pop and soda are fizzy drinks in general. But since most people only drink coca cola they adopted "coke" as the term to encompass all, even if they just drink coca cola

  • Well coke is a brand so you'd only say coke if you specifically meant that type of soda
