I love making lasagne when I can get good Italian ingredients - fresh pasta sheets, herbs, chianti, proper parmesan, etc and an equally good chianti to drink with it.
The secret to good food is don't put wine in it you wouldn't drink. If its not good enough to drink it will spoil the taste
I personally like Italian appetizers, not a huge fan of pasta or rice.
Italian meat products and salads is where it is at.
