Where I live people do it firstly because it's filtered, as tap water is not enaugh filtered and has lime, so drinking that everyday could cause problems such as kidney stones. Though many people have tap filters or water recipients with filters, and buy bottled water just in case the filter breaks. However there are people who only buys bottled water and don't worry about getting a filter and using reusable bottles when going out, there are even people who have filters at home and use a lot bottled water. I suppose that in the end it's mainly because it's very easy and quick to consume (and seems cheap at first despite is more expensive on a long run). Tap filter costs some money that some people prefer not to spend. Water jar with filter has to be refilled several times a day specially if you also refill reusable bottles with that filtered water from the jar and also the filter in these recipients has to be changed every X time, which is a bit more work than opening a bottle, drinking it and throwing it away. So, in the end it's because it's easy, then F. But I'm dumb and pushed A before even wait and think. Now the poll is wrong. Yay.
it's ok some times we hit wrong choice 😊😊👍an great 1👍have a good day
The only good thing about bottle water if you have no access to water in your house and need water. I had my water shut many times for maintenance and they usually shut it from 9 am to 5 pm. Which is why I just grab a water bottle and use the water to brush my god damn teeth. It's fucking annoying.
great 1 👍
Bottled water is one of the greatest scams ever thought up. All these companies, saying our water comes from a natural spring. How many natural springs have you see in ur life? How big was it? Was it big enough to bottle millions of plastic bottles a year lol? And as far as being filtered, most companies that "filter" their water, actually just run it through a black light setup, no filtering actually occurs. And, y would u have to filter it if it cane from a natural spring with no contaminates anyway?
As I work away from home for extended periods that if anything will cause vomiting and diarrhoea it will be the local water so I stick to branded bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth etc If I know I'm going to be in one place for an extended period I'll have packed a water filter and Iodine purification tablets. I also use the filter if the local water is hard to make it more palatable.
None of the above for the most part.Fear based marketing. Period.Personally I cannot stand the plasticy taste of most bottled water. I am aware that water is tested and checked regularly, know that clorine in the amounts used is of no risk, know that many of the bottled waters are just city water bottled up and the rest is marketing, and refuse to add more plastic to landfills un-necessarily.The ONLY thing it has going for it is convenience. And I have my own steel water bottle. Check and mate.Penn and Teller did a great takedown of the whole bottled water industry on their Bullshit show.
I can't believe you missed the biggest reason! I drink bottled water in order to appear, "chic." (But no one needs to know that I bottle my own water!)
I buy it because I dislike the taste of our tap water. I know that German tap water has a high quality and isn't less healthy to drink than mineral water, but the taste plays a big role to me. It was hard enough to find a sort of water I liked and been able to drink without having to add some extra taste.
Initially, I learned the painful & hard way. Imagine getting sick from drinking tap water & filling your glass with ice manually handled in an under-developed country.
good 1👍sorry to hear bout getting sick
your awelcome have a good day👍😊
A lot of places do not have good filtered water or drinking water in general. Bottled water is the only solution sometimes to getting something that you need in your life that won't harm you afterwards. Even still, some bottled water is just as bad as non filtered water.
"It's clean and safe" is what I would say, but... since I was old enough to drink water instead of milk, I've been fine. Yes, I've been ill/sick, but I am human and it would be stupid to blame it on anything else without proof. I'm still alive ( Thank God. Hope I'm alive until a good old age yet. ), and I'm 32 now.
Because their dumb as fuck. Bottle water is the biggest marketing con of all time. Unless you live in a shithole country that doesn't have safe drinking water it's a waste of money.
Don't know about 'the biggest'. But certainly in the top 5!
I love my tap water but I could understand if someone had bad tasting water that they might buy bottled water. Otherwise I view it as a waste of money most of the time
Well the water in my town has high levels of led and chlorine so I definitely wouldn't drink it
Recently a lot of the tap water in America is not safe to drink. The government in the county, town, city , and state is not doing a great of enough job to treat the tap water so people are drinking bottle water so they don’t have health issues later
I can't speak for others. About me: For drinking without boiling I don't fully trust the quality of tap water in 'my' country. Also: The 5-ltrs. bottles -once empty- are excellent for my herbs gardening.
Because the water is shit in Namibia, is why I buy bottled water.
Because they don't want lead poison. Pic is Charlestown Indiana water.
That's awful. At least water in the Bay Area is safe to drink, though it often needs some filtering. I do work at an old ski lodge up in the Sierras that has water tapped directly from the mountains, and I bring about 10 gallons home everytime I go. It's delicious and super pure (they sell this water to a bottled water company also, so it's regularly tested and considered some of the best water anywhere).
@MrOracle They tell them that is safe to drink , just looks bad
that's gross I wouldn't drink it 👍😊great 1
It's cultural in many places. In many parts of central Europe the water is safe to drink, but drinking it is seen as something weird or something that only poor people do.
Personally I like it because I can just grab a bottle and get going, it also tastes abit better in my opinion.
90% convenience.10% tap water is really sketchy.
No brains. In most cases, it's the same shit that comes out of your tap! Just boil your tap water and allow it to cool before drinking it.
The biggest question is why are people even drinking water We can survive without water especially without the clean ones
I drink bottled water for a few reasons. First, my well is very mineral laden (tastes and smells sulfury). Second, they are convenient. And finally, my water destroys filters.
For me easier to carry - I always like to have a bottle with me
Cause they can't drink the water from their houses?
Where I live I don't have this problem but, when I went to Canada, the water tasted awful there so I would understand if some people bought bottled water. We bought a water filter instead and that somewhat solved the problem.
I got sick all because the ice wasn't fitters. People from UK there stoumch has not been to dirty water from different countries. It happen when I was in Egypt
Can't afford bottled water.. we just drink tap water. It looks pretty decent.
Who would have ever thought that water would cost more than gasoline?I have good well water and don't normally drink it at home.I drink it cause it is easy to grab and go with.
They were told to by aggressive marketing, and emotional manipulation.
I think they think it's a status symbol or something. I just fill the bottle at home, but that's just me.
I think it comes down to the quality of water in your area. Most places you can drink water from the tap so it's just a waste of money. You're paying for water already.
The taste of filtered water and perceived higher quality of water bought from. a store.
"Because it's convenient" would be a nice option looool as that is the reason why people by pre packaged nutrients of any kind.
The stuff in the tap water gives my mom kidney stones.
Convenience or they have poor tap water. Poor, poor people.
Because it's clean and safe.
good 1 👍
Convenience and concerns about shady tap water
It's easy to bin when you want to
My city water tastes metallic
Free from microbes
great 1 👍😊
Tap water doesn't appear as sanitary.
It doesn't have that metallic after taste.
Because they are stupid and lazy
because they're thirsty lol
carbonated water. Germans are obsessed with it.
But at least it's often with re-usable glass bottles.
We use the plastic ones because my dad has to carry them to work. He is a construction worker and a glass bottles would break to easily. But don't worry we Germans recyle. Every bottle gets melted and used again.
some are filtered.
