Hot soup anyone?

I love soup. But I'm not that fond of big chunks of stuff in it. I prefer creamed soups, bisques and soups that are loaded with lots of bits of things. There is a place kind of near me that has the best clam chowder I've ever eaten. It has loads clams, potatoes, celery, carrots, herbs and other things that are chopped very small. My wife makes wonderful squash soup that's thick but as smooth as tomato soup. Seafood soups are the exception. I freaking love cioppino!

I love flavors of all kinds - mild, spicy, sweet, (chili) peppery, piquant, umami, you name it. Maybe that's why I'm not fond of big pieces of chicken or potatoes or vegetables in a broth. When it comes to soups, I like to be able to almost drink them.

That is a pretty ugly looking soup. No offence. Where's the fish? What's with all these weird vegetables floating in water? How many lime wedges do you need, do you want to be able to taste the soup. Oh, and did I forget to ask where the fish is?

I love soups. In the cold temps I make them at least once a week. Last night I made a gnocchi and meatball soup.
