My mom made a great date bread.
One of my comfort foods is my mom's tuna casserole. A lot of people hate tuna casserole but my wife got the recipe and makes it for me as a treat sometimes. She thinks it's barfy. Fine. All the more for me. LOL
Yum. Such a bummer that the recipe was lost. Lots of times the cook just knew how to make it with a pinch or this and a dash of that and never even wrote it down.
That stuff sounds great. I never had scalloped oysters. I bet I'd like it. The Mexican goulash sounds yummy. The pistachio cake sounds amazing, too. I'm lucky that sister got some of my mom's and grandmother's recipes.

It's cool that you've been able to recreate some of those.
I don't know anyone who makes good cheese. LOL But I agree with you, foreign cheese rocks.
My grandmother used to make bread sometimes. But she and my grandfather used to get fresh bread from a really good bakery. It was the bomb.
And yes, bone marrow is great. I've sucked it right out of the bone before. Spreading on bread is delicious, too. I haven't done that since I was a kid. I did invent a fantastic ox tail stew.
