How easy is it to catch smth on fire while cooking?

Question

So I was thinking of making fries but then I’m afraid to put oil in the pan n all since I’ve seen so many videos on fires happening and I don't know like any advice or should I jus not do it T^T

It is easy, very easy. But what I think you're asking is whether it is likely. It's not likely, just be careful. If you're anxious about it, I'd suggest watching several tutorials on YouTube. And if/when you get around to trying it, try to have an adult or otherwise experienced cook around when you do it. If you can't, have a fire extinguisher present, and make sure you know how to use it (watching tutorials on how to use a fire extinguisher will help as well). But if a fire does happen in the kitchen, and there is OIL present, whatever you do, do NOT put water on it. Oil fires will often spread when subject to water, use the fire extinguisher instead.

But again, it's not likely that a fire will occur. When you put the oil in the pan, just make sure the heat is on the right temperature, and try to make sure that the handle of the pan is not above the heat from the stove (a heated handle can cause you to drop the pan and splash oil everywhere which can cause a fire).

So the best thing to do is have an adult, preferably an experiences cook, and a fire extinguisher present.
