I want to quit drinking soda drinks. Should I stop straight away or drink less daily to start with?

For some abstinence is easier than moderation but I would suggest avoiding completely rigid thinking and harsh rules as this could undermine your efforts.

To completely deny yourself ever having something which you enjoy is quite brutal and could seem very much like a punishment.

I would suggest that you do try cutting it out completely but without being totally draconian about it.

E. g. Try to remove it from your daily life but allow yourself to enjoy it with company or on special occassion etc.

Only you can really know what is going to work for you and you might only learn that by trying different things and seeing how it goes.

In anycase try to focus your mind on the benefits and what you are getting out of it rather than dwelling on thoughts that you are missing out on something.

Ween yourself off. Depending on consumption your body will go through withdrawal symptoms from lack of sugar intake it gets from it. Start reducing the amount you drink a day and then once you have done that, start drinking it every other day. Then maybe once a week.

It not only programs your mind to take in less, but it also doesn't shock your body with the immediate change.

It depends, how much do you drink and how much control do you have on drinking it? If it’s a lot and you can’t completely shut it out then gradually drink less. I found something else to drink that really enjoyed (tea for me) and eventually stopped drinking soda completely.

I've never been into drinking soda but try some unsweetened carbonated water instead and eat whole fruit to mimic the sugar buzz you get. Then gradually cut it out. See if it's the sugar or caffeine you're addicted to.

Feel free to do what I did & slowly walk away from soda & when you do you’ll notice changes. I used to drink soda all the time & one day I decided to stop buying bottles & I said I would only buy soda when I went to a restaurant & one day at a restaurant the waitress asked me if I would like a drink & I said Pepsi or Coke & than I said you know what make it water instead.

Depending on how much you drink. I personally drink like a gallon of Pepsi per day. I have to cut down slowly or my body will go in shock. If I don't drink it a day I get headaches and mood swing

Or self sabotage your soda make them as nasty as you can so you mentally disgust yourself and convince your brain to categorize soda as a bad memory so you won’t want to do it again

Drink less, cold turkey with anything is hard. Just drink more water as well. That will help reverse some of the bad effects and curtail the drinking of it.

Start slow. I quit straight for a month or two and had hand tremors every day until i started back

Just stop, it's not like they should be addicting by content, you just mentally can't resist.

I didn't stop drinking soft drinks but I drastically reduced the amount I drank by just saying to myself "I'm going to drink water instead of a soft drink once today". Then twice. Then three times. And so on.

When I tried to stop it made me "binge" (for lack of a better word) so I'd personally recommend cutting back solely, especially if you drink mostly caffeinated soda quitting cold turkey can cause headaches

Just stop. They aren't drugs, you don't have a chemical dependency.

Don't make a drama.
Drink tea and water few weeks long and next coke can you open will taste like sugar mixed with acetone.

Just stop, soda is so bad for you, it's a main reason so many americans are fat. Just drink water like normal poeple.
