Cheers! I lived in Singapore for several years. Most of my exposure to Chinese culture and cuisine came from those years. I also loved shark fin soup although that seems to be a no-no these days with environmentalists. I love the soup either way.
My general thoughts as well although I tried Chinese fried rice and red wine together. That didn't exactly match at first... but who cares -- I drink enough wine and get tipsy and now it's matching. :-D
